for some 320 full-time purchasing/inventory team members located at the major
manufacturing operations around the world
- Supported
manufacturing sites in Japan, Italy, Singapore, Virginia, Utah and Idaho
- Developed
and led a global Purchasing Council, consisting of the senior managers of the
central purchasing teams and the purchasing managers from the major
manufacturing sites
- Controlled
roughly 75% of a $4.5 billion annual corporate purchasing spend through
the central teams
- Centrally-controlled
activities included strategic equipment negotiations, global raw materials
negotiations, critical spare parts and second source negotiations, global
forecasting and tool slotting, strategic supplier relations, and
purchasing policies and ethics
- Purchasing
and inventory systems were driven by a corporate-wide ERP. Ownership of SAP MM module
resided within the central team environment(SAP)
- Administered
salary and development programs for both hourly and salaried team members
- Annual
travel to overseas manufacturing sites and occasional travel to global
supplier locations primarily in Japan, China, Malaysia, Holland, Germany
and Singapore

Purchasing escalation point for key semiconductor suppliers, including:
- ASM Lithography, Applied Materials,Tokyo Electron, Novellus, LAM Research, KLA-Tencor, Dai Nippon Screen,
Shin-Etsu Handotai, Sumco, JSR Microelectronics, among many lesser suppliers
- Reported
directly to the CFO, who reported to the CEO
- Negotiated
at corporate, strategic level with senior executives of supplier firms

and instructor for corporate supplier ethics policies

industry best practices, including e-sourcing, reverse auctions, evaluated
receipt settlement (ERS), purchasing cards, and consignment inventory
programs

on due diligence teams for TI Memory and Dominion Semiconductor
acquisitions

on Executive Review team in 2006 for IM Flash Technologies (Intel JV) $2.9B
capital tool acquisition package, achieving $450M in cost savings
